Definition
This is required for conversion to the target currency.
The system always calculates from the source currency to the intermediate currency and then to the target currency.
In some applications, an intermediate currency is calculated automatically. In SD, for example, the local currency is determined from the company code and used as the intermediate currency.
If the intermediate currency cannot be determined automatically, then it is made available for entry. The system then uses it to convert to the target currency.
