Definition
Key for an activity to determine recipients for all correspondence.
Use
When correspondence is being created, the master data is checked to see whether a standard correspondence activity has been defined to determine the alternative correspondence recipient.
The correspondence recipient determined is used for all correspondence types, unless a correspondence type-specific recipient has been entered.
The recipient determined is always an alternative one. These recipients can be defined directly by entering the business partner or by defining calculation guidelines to determine the recipient. In this case the activity defined determines which calculation method is to be used. In Customizing, the activity is assigned a function module.
Examples
After the third dunning notice for motor insurance the insurance company wants to inform the vehicle registration center about the loss in insurance cover. You can enter an activity for this instead of having to enter the vehicle registration center as an additional correspondence recipient for each insured party. At runtime, this activity can determine the relevant vehicle registration center from the master data of the insured party, for example, address and license plate number.
