Definition

The conversion factor is used to convert remuneration points into contributions. Like the current pension values, the conversion factor is specified by the legislator.

Public sector employees and retired civil servants can offset the reduction in pension payments in accordance with Section 57 BeamtenVG by paying the calculated contributions (capital amount) to the public sector employer (Section 58 BeamtenVG: Prevention of Reduction in Pension Payments).

Note:

Remuneration points = amount set by court/current pension value at the end of the marriage

Capital amount = remuneration points * conversion factor (for the pension equalization payment in statutory pension insurance based on the day of the family court decision).
