Definition
This setting indicates the configurable material is to be configured with the IPC only. This applies in particular for interactive configuration for example in the sales order processing, and the respective background processing.
Use
Choose this setting if you want to mark the material to be configured with the IPC in the logistics processing of SAP ERP.
Using the IPC in SAP ERP is an option only if the IPC is used in other scenarios for product configuration of the material (e.g. SAP ERP E-Commerce, SAP Internet Sales or SAP CRM scenarios).
This setting is definite i.e. once you have set this mode, you cannot revoke it.
Prerequisites
If you want to use the IPC you have to consider specific modeling requirements. For more information see SAP Library Variant Configuration (LO-VC) -> Master Data and Configuration Engine.
The configuration with the IPC requires the availability of a knowledge-base object and according runtime versions.
