Definition

This field specifies the scenario in which the table conversion runs.

1. Ad hoc conversions:
   Ad hoc conversions result from spontaneously entering a table in the worklist with 'Edit -> Add table'. They adjust tables in development systems and modifications in production systems.
2. Conversions before the upgrade:
   Such conversions try to reduce the downtime of the upgrade (non- productive time) by moving conversions with a long runtime to productive operation. By starting phase 'PREPARE' prior to the upgrade, the candidates for a conversion are automatically determined before the upgrade.
3. Conversions after the upgrade:
   In some cases you can move the table conversion to productive operation after the upgrade. As in 2, the downtime of the upgrade is reduced. This scenario is used for tables EDIDOC & CDCLS for each upgrade from Release 2 or 3 to Release 4.
