Definition
JES is MVS Job Entry Subsystem, that receives JCL (Job Control Language) Jobs into the z/OS system and processes all output data, that is produced by the jobs.
JES will give each Job a unique ID, that can be used for querying the jobs status and cancel or purge it, when necessary.
