Definition
The number of times DB2 issued an unlock request to the coupling facility for castout I/Os that have completed.
When pages are in the process of being castout to DASD, they are locked for castout in the coupling facility. The castout lock is not an IRLM lock. Its purpose is to enforce that only one system can cast out a given page at a time.
DB2 usually includes several pages in one write I/O request for castout. Therefore, the number in this field should always be less than, or equal to, the number of pages cast out; it should be significantly less if several pages are written per I/O. For example, if on average four pages are written per castout write I/O, the number of pages cast out should be four times the number in this field.
