The individual country and industry determine the use of the individual date indicators.

Public Sector Germany

You can use the technical (dummy) entry date (indicator 01) if the actual entry date is not recorded in the Actions infotype (0000) on the productive date.

You can use date indicators 14 (length of service) and 15 (length of employment) to determine how long a person is entitled to continued pay and sick pay supplements when he or she is sick. A distinction is made between periods of continued pay calculated on the basis of the regulation valid since 01.07.1994 (§37 BAT), or on the basis of the transitional regulation (§71 BAT).
If none of these date types are specified, the technical (dummy) entry date (indicator 01) or the actual entry date is used to determine the length of service/employment for calculating the length of entitlements.

To enter the start of a new calculation period when determining leave and sickness premiums, use the date type with indicator 31.

With the date indicator 06, via the validity period of infotype 0041, you can set the interim bonus to zero for any period of time. You can use this to reduce runtime for personnel numbers that still have the wage type 'interim bonus' in infotype 0008, although the amount is 0.00. In infotype 0041, the relevant start date is whichever comes later: the start date of the record or the date behind the date type. The end of validity is the end of validity of the record.

Construction Industry Germany

You can use a date with indicator 80 to record the employee's entry date for determining seniority, if the productive date was used for the entry date in the Actions infotype (0000). This date is used to determine the entitlement to a 13th monthly salary.

Social Insurance Germany

  • Date indicator 08 (Start of private health insurance)

You can use the date indicator 08 for a date type that is used to record the start of the employee's private health insurance in the infotype 0041.

When the annual income limit (report RPLSVED0) is checked for employees with private health insurance, the date type is evaluated to decide whether the higher or lower income limit is used for shortfall cases.

  • Date indicator 09 (Separate DEUEV Notification)

You can use the date indicator 09 for employees who have made a pension application if you receive a request to submit a separate DEUEV notication for the pension precalculation (submission reason 57) from the pension insurance company.

Enter a date in the month in which the 57th notification is to end. The report RPCD3VD0 then returns the employee's unregistered renumeration until the end of this month with the notification reason 57.

  • Date indicator 12 (first entry into employment)

Use the date indicator 12 for employees from other EU member states, who are entering employment in Germany for the first time and do not have a German social insurance number.

When the DEUEV registration (report RPCD3VD0) is created, a data module DBEU is also delivered for these persons that triggers the process to assign a social insurance number.

The data module DBEU can only be created for the first entry into employment.

  • Date indicator 13 (Request for PI exemption for part-time employees with increase of remuneration to more than 400 EUR)

A minimum income part-time employee whose remuneration is increased to an amount between 400.01 EUR and 450 EUR remains a minimum income part-time employee, but is then liable for pension insurance according to the legislation. However, the employee can be exempted from this arbitrary occurance of PI liability if the employee provides the employer with a written request. According to §28s Para.1 SGB IV, the employer must register the receipt of the PI exemption request to the minijob central office, by reporting to the DEUEV a registration and deregistration with reason 33/13 for the month when the exemption begins.

Use the date indicator 13 for a date type with which you save the receipt date of the PI exemption request in infotype 0041. The report RPCD3VD0 (Create DEUEV Notifications) then creates a registration and deregistration with reason 33/13 at the start of the month of the receipt date.

Public Sector Austria

Indicator 04 is used for the date type that is used to record the employment assignment key date in infotype 0041.

Note

Note the following naming conventions for the entered keys:

  • The date types delivered by SAP must be assigned to a numeric date indicator.
  • Use non-numeric keys for customer data tyes.

Procedure

  • Determine a date type as technical (dummy) entry date for the Date Specifications infotype (0041) for Public Sector Germany and specify the value 01 in the Indicator field for this date type. Furthermore, define a date type as Length of service (indicator 14) and a date type as Length of employment (indicator 15).
Note that the technical entry date is only required if the actual entry date is not recorded in the Actions infotype (0000) on the productive date.
  • Determine a date type as the technical (dummy) entry date for the Construction Industry Germany in the Date Specificationsinfotype (0041), and assign value 80 to this date type in the Indicator field.
  • Proceed as above for other applications. Take note of the naming conventions for assigning keys in the case of customer-specific date indicators.
