Definition

The date type defines the meaning of a particular date, for example, date type 01 for technical entry date.

Use

The date type is used in the Date Specifications infotype (0041). Here you can assign a specific date to a date type.

Dependencies

When you create a Date Specifications record, the system proposes a date type on the basis of the employee's organizational structure.

Note

A date type is assigned to a date indicator. Make sure you follow the following naming convention:

  • Date types provided by SAP must be assigned to a numeric date indicator.
  • User-defined date types must be assigned to a non-numeric date indicator.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0

Use

The date type is used in the infotype date specifications (0041). There you allocate a certain date to a date type.

Procedure

Examples

Dependencies

When creating the infotype date specifications, a date type is proposed depending on the organizational structure of the employee. You can define the default value in the feature DATAR with transaction PE03.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0001

Procedure

Enter a date type if you want to determine the seniority of the selected employees from the Date Specifications (0041) infotype.

Dependencies

If a date has been assigned to the date type in infotype Date Specifications (0041) then the lowest date is used to calculate the the anniversary.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0002

Use

"Start of probationary period" date type used for automatic progression

If the beginning of the membership in the current pay scale group/case group does not match the start date of the probationary period used for automatic progression or automatic progression for case groups, you must enter a valid date for the employee in the Date Specifications infotype (0041).

This date type is entered here.

Procedure

In this field, enter the date type to be used in calculating the probationary period for the automatic progression or automatic progression for case groups.

Dependencies

The entry is validated against table T548Y.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0003

Use

Procedure

Enter a date for the date type assigned to the employee.

Examples

Dependencies

When you create a Date Specifications record, the system proposes a date type on the basis of the organizational structure. You can define this default value in the feature DATAR using the transaction PE03.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0004

Use

Procedure

Enter a date type in this field if you want to use the seniority specified in the Date Specifications infotype (0041) for pay scale reclassification.

Examples

Dependencies

If you have entered a date for a valid date type in the Date Specifications infotype (0041), this date and not the employee's age is used for pay scale reclassification.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0006

Use

If you have entered the date type in the infotype Date Specifications, (0041) the system uses the lowest date to calculate the anniversary.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0007

Use

The date type is used in the Date Specifications infotype (0041). In this infotype, you can assign a specific date to a date type for each employee.

If you want to use a date type to define a validity period, the system reads the date stored in the infotype without the year. This allows you to store an annual period which is independent of the calendar year (01/01/xx - 12/31/xx).

Procedure

Examples

An employee joined your enterprise on 04/01/1995. Absence quotas are created annually for employees. Counting is always based on the entry date.
You should therefore use the date type 01-technical entry date for the start and end dates. The absence quota is then generated for 05/01/xx to 04/30 of the next year.

Dependencies

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0008

Use

The date type is used in the Date Specifications infotype (0041). Here you can assign a specific date to a date type.

If you want to use a date type to define the data transfer period, the system reads the date stored in the infotype without the year. This allows you to define an annual period which is independent of the calendar year (01/01/xx - 12/31/xx).

Procedure

Examples

An employee joined your enterprise on 04/01/1995. Absence quotas are created annually for employees. Counting is always based on the entry date.
You should therefore enter 01-technical entry date as the date type. The absence quota is then transferred on March 31 of the next year.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0009

Use

The date type is used in the Date Specifications infotype (0041). Here you can assign a specific date to a date type.

If you want to use a date type to define the key date for seniority or age, the system reads the date stored in the infotype without the year. This allows you to define an annual period which is independent of the calendar year (01/01/xx - 12/31/xx).

Procedure

Examples

How the seniority is defined for a particular employee changes on 04/01/1998. The key date should always be based on the entry date.
You should therefore enter 01-technical entry date as the date type.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0010

Use

The date type is used to define a special start date for a time interval. The time interval is used to calculate time specifications for an employee, such as the length of service in a company.

Supplementary Documentation - DATAR 0011

Definition

This specifies the date type that the system uses to determine the entitlement period for additional leave.

If you do not make an entry in this field, or if the date type is not maintained for an employee, the system calculates leave entitlement as of January 1 of the current year.

Use

The system reads the month specified for the date type in the Date field of infotype 0041 Date Specifications.

Procedure

Example

You use the Leave year entry date type. In infotype 0041 Date Specifications, March 1, 1998 has been entered for your employee for the date type. The report only evaluates the month specified, and calculates additional leave to which the employee is entitled as of March 1 of the current year.

Dependencies

Definition

Use

If you want to use a date other than the employee's hire date as the start date for the measurement of service for vesting, you can specify a hire date override.

Examples

Dependencies

  • You can only specify a hire date override in a vesting rule if the plan(s) to which this rule applies are not retirement plans, as defined in the plan general data.
  • For retirement plans, a hire date override can be specified in the definition of vesting service calculation. You therefore do not need to enter a hire date override in the vesting rule.
