Definition
For this processing method, a session in the background-system is immediately processed.
Your terminal is available for input again as soon as the session has been transferred to the background processing system. The status of the session changes to sessions in the background.
Note that you have to release your session in the background system, before the session can be started.
Processed sessions
A processed session is dealt with in one of the three ways described below:
- The system deletes a session from the session queue as soon as it was successfully processed. You can display the result by calling the log file.
- If the option KEEP was set when the session was created, the batch input session name remains in the overview even if the session was successfully processed. Its status changes to Processed.
You cannot process the session again. You also have to delete it manually if you do not need it anymore.
- If a transaction in the session contains an error, the transaction is terminated. All remaining transactions are completed. The session remains in the session queue and receives the status Error. You can correct a session with one of the interactive processing methods and finish processing.
A session contains an error if an error message of the category E (Error) or the category A (abnormal termination) is issued. Other messages are ignored and do not affect the processing of a session.
