Definition

This key identifies an initial order.

Use

The data stored in an initial order includes the following:

  • Context
  • Indicator for confirmation of receipt, output check
  • Documents to be distributed
  • Recipient of documents

Dependencies

When distribution is initiated (either manually or by an SAP Business Workflow event, first an initial order is crated.

  • An initial order contains several partial orders. A partial order describes the link between a recipient and a document (1:1 link).
  • Depending on the "Distribute immediately" indicator, the distribution process is started either immediately or at a later time. The partial orders have different statuses.

    Example:

    • Status SY (synchronous)
    • This status is set automatically if the Distribute immediately indicator is set when distribution is started. The initial order is created and the event "Distribution order initiated" is generated. The distribution process is triggered immediately.
    • Status AS (asynchronous)
    • This status is set automatically if the Distribute immediately is not set when distribution is started.
The distribution order is not processed until a later point in time, for example, in a background job (RCDDSSTAR).
This lets you collect all initial orders for one recipient and distribute them later as one distribution order.
