Definition
The object type is a central term in the installed base. The system assigns an object type in table T371D for each business object that is to be assigned to the installed base. This four-character type is only recognized within the installed base program.
The object type determines the following:
- ID in table T371D for application programs outside of the installed base program
- ABAP class in table T371D responsible for accessing and validating the objects.
- Subscreens that are used in the transactions for processing the installed base
The object type is stored in the component together with the object key.
