Use

Here you define the rules for creating incoming correspondence in years with shortened periods.

Shortened periods are special cases that only occur if a frequency is coupled to calender weeks. This applies to 14 day (fortnightly) and 4 week frequencies. In years with 52 calendar weeks, with a 14 day frequency, there are 26 periods, and for a 4 week frequency, there are 13 periods. In years with 53 weeks, there is an additional shortened period of one week that reflects an additional billing period for both frequencies.

To define the billing period of a shortened period (53 weeks), you can choose from 4 rules:

• Billing period with normal length:
  The system interprets the shortened period as a complete billing period and thereby overlaps the billing period of the first period in the following year.
• Reduction of billing period:
  A billing period of one week is created. The billing period is therefore shorter than the frequency requires.
• No creation of incoming correspondence for shortened periods:
  The generation of incoming corresponence is suppressed for shortened periods. The days of the 53rd calendar week are not included in any billing period.
• No creation, extension of previous period:
  The generation of incoming correspondence is suppressed for shortened periods. The days of the 53rd calendar week are added to the previous period and therefore increase the length of the billing period.
