Definition

The environment of a template contains various functions and thus determines which information of the SAP environment, and possibly of external systems, can be accessed when a template is defined.

There are special environments for each application purpose of a template. Before you create a template, select an environment. The environment determines such parameters as which row and column types are available in the template.
