Definition

Controls that the OPC Alarms/Events server only reports OPC events of the selected event type to the SAP system.

Use

All event messages contain at least the following required information: event source, event time, event type, event cateory, event priority, event text.

Depending on the event type, the event message can contain additional information. You can choose from the following event types:

  • Simple:

This event type informs you that an event has occurred, for example, a device breakdown. The event message only contains the above-mentioned required information.

  • Tracking-Related:

In addition to the above-mentioned required information, this event type contains the actor ID that identifies, for example, the person who acknowledged an event.

  • Condition-Related:

With this event type, it has been defined in the OPC server under which conditions an event is to be triggered. This is defined using conditions and subconditions. The subconditions can describe one reason (for example, pressing a button) or several reasons (for example, if a value was below or above a certain limit) for an event. By activating and deactivating the subconditions, you control which events the OPC server sends to the SAP system. Moreover, the OPC server can request an acknowledgement of a reported event from the SAP system.

    Example:
The condition-related event "Door" has condition "Contact" and subcondition "Open door".
