Definition
Specifies which events the SAP system is to receive. An OPC event can occur for different reasons but not all events are important. For this reason, you can define which events you want to receive. An OPC Alarms/Events server creates events when the following situations occur:
- With condition-related events:
- If an event condition is fulfilled, for example, a critical operating temperature was exceeded
- If an event condition is no longer fulfilled, for example, if the critical operating temperature is no longer exceeded
- If an event subcondition changed, for example, if the fill level of a tank has changed and the subcondition "Lo" changes to "LoLo".
- With events that need to be acknowledged, if a preceding event was acknowledged
Example: An event occurred that reports that a critical temperature was exceeded. A process operator presses a button and thus acknowledges the event. Due to this acknowledgment, the OPC Alarms/Events server creates another event to report that acknowledgement was successful. - If the quality of the OPC item connected to the event changed
- If the severity of an event changed
- If the descriptive text of an event changed
Use
Select only those event reasons for which you want to receive events.
To receive events at all, you must select at least one event reason. By default, the Event Condition Fulfilled entry is selected.
