Documentation
Definition
File format tha the converter converts into another format.
Use
This format serves as a data source for the new file format that can be used for processing using other workstation applications.
Dependencies
Original application files with this file format are known as input files for the converter.
Examples
In a CAD system (such as CATIA) you create a design drawing with the file format *.CAT.
The CAD interface and conversion interface are set up so that the converter converts every CAD document into a 3D model (such as *.JT). The new *.JT can be processed further with the appropriate workstation applications. You can also view product data that is saved in the file using the integrated view of the standard SAP System.
