Documentation
Definition
The consolidation system is the first SAP system into which your change requests are imported regularly.
You can use the consolidation system to test the status of the transported objects before the transports are taken into other (production) systems.
The consolidation target system is assigned to the objects of the ABAP Workbench via the transport layer.
Use
If you set up a group of SAP ystems with a development system and a production system, then a consolidation route is created from the development system (= source system) to the production system (= transport destination).
When development work in the integration system has reached a functional status, then you can transport them into the consolidation system.

Use
System in which the consolidation transports are imported. This is either the target system from the definition of the consolidation transport targets or the consolidation system from the transport layer.
Procedure
The target system for the consolidation system can be defined as the system from which delivery is to take place if an entry exists in the definitions for the consolidation transport target. If no such definitions exist, one can still temporarily define the consolidation system.
Examples
3 systems:
- E11 - development systen
- T11 - test system
- P11 - productive system
Consolidation transport target definition:
E11 - T11 - T11 (standard without changing the target)
Deliveries:
P11 is delivered from T11.
Dependencies
The entry of the consolidation transport target definition is not mandatory, but is recommended.
