Definition
Distinguishes the type of original batch. The indicator is only used internally.
' ' - Original batch with assignment to order item
'X' - Process batch; assignment to production order. It is possible to create a process batch and assign it to an order item or PO item that does not yet exist in the system. The item number entered is to be regarded as a dummy item and allows the assignment of the original batch to an order before it is clear to which order item the final assignment is to be made.
Process batches are for information purposes only and have no effect on functions such as batch determination and the batch where-used list.
'P' - Propagation batch; assignment to order item. The propagation batch serves the purpose of bequeathing item-specific characteristics to the stock batch at the time of goods receipt.
