Definition
Summarization aids in collecting transaction data on the cost center group level. The summarized data is always updated as an additional collection of data.
When you execute summarization, the data from the cost center group and from subordinate areas is collected from bottom to top. For technical reasons, you must assign each node of a cost center group with a representative cost center during master data maintenance.
