Definition

If ALL G/L accounts/cost elements in the mapping do NOT exist in any other chart of accounts in the system you should set this indicator.

Use

Having unique G/L account-/cost element numbers in the system (for the chart of accounts to be converted) can have positive effects on the performance of the conversion. In this case during the conversion it is not necessary to check for a given number X to which chart of accounts / company code it belongs (as it only exists in one chart of accounts).

Dependencies

If the conversion shall not be executed for all company codes, which use the chart of accounts, then the conversion must be executed dependent on organizational units. In this case it is irrelevant, whether G/L accounts/cost elements are unique or not

Example

The following G/L accounts exist in the system:

CoA    Accounts

X    1000

X    4000

Y    1500

Y    2500

Z    2000

Z    2500

All accounts of CoA X are unique, they do not occur in any other CoA. The Unique indicator can be set if CoA X is to be converted.

Assuming CoA Y should be converted, then the Unique indicator can not be set as account 2500 does also exist in CoA Z

Further notes

Do not set this indicator if you do not know yet whether the mapping will only contain unqiue G/L accounts/cost elements.
