Definition

The sets indicator is only relevant for charts-of-accounts which are converted according to a COPY scenario.

For a COPY scenario, the source chart-of-accounts remains unchanged in the system, in contrast to the target chart-of-accounts which is created/modified.

This requires the copying and modifying of entries for the target chart-of-accounts in all tables which involve chart-of-accounts or sets fields in the table key.

These sets can be used in

  • reporting (report painter, report writer)
  • allocations (assessment, distribution, ...)

However due to the complexity of reports and allocations it is not possible to re-create them automatically using the copied sets.

In tables RWSHEADER, RWSLINE, SETHEADER, SETHEADERT, SETLEAF, SETLINET, SETNODE for a COPY scenario new entries are created for the target company code.

For the sets table fields in all other tables it must be decided for a source chart-of-accounts which is converted according to a COPY scenario if it should be unchanged (ie, the information of the source chart-of-accounts remains), or modified (ie, the information of the target chart-of-accounts is there after the conversion).

If a source company code is converted according to a COPY scenario, the sets indicator determines whether these sets table fields are converted or not.

Please note that if you convert the tables you can no longer use the reports that are based on the old chart of accounts data.
