Definition

Specifies the business transaction and legal status for the entity objects (collateral objects or collateral agreements) from the system perspective.

Use

Entity objects may assume different system statuses during a life cycle. The tab page Administration shows a record of all the system statuses (and user stautses) that an entity object has assumed. The standard system provides the following system statuses that you can use.

System statuses set internally:

  • Created

This system status will be set as default for all the new entity objects. This system status will be set on the completion of all business activities belonging to activity categories Create/Change/Display

  • Active

The system sets the status Active on completion of all business activities belonging to activity category Release (either by using workflow settings or without workflow settings).

  • Legally active

The system sets this status on completion of all business activities belonging to activity category Legally active.

System statuses that can be set manually:

  • Inactive

You must use the business activity Set inactive to set the system status to Inactive.

Note: You must define the business activity Inactive in the Customizing for business activities. Additionally, you must you must set this system statusif entity objects have become obsolete and cannot be used in the internal processes for Collateral Management (CM).

System statuses that can be set in the Customizing for business activities:

  • Legally active

The system sets the status legally active on completion of business activities belonging to activity category Legally active. You can also use the Customizing for business activities to influence the settings for this system status.

  • Calculation relevant

In the Customizing for business activities, you must explicitly specify if a business object would become calculation relevant, on the completion of the business activity.

Dependencies

The standard system allows you to specify how a business activity can influence the system statuses legally active and calculation relevant for a business object. Use the node System status transition in the IMG activity Define Activities, to specify if the business activity will:

  • Influence the system status (legally active and calculation relevant) for a business object. You can select from the following values:
    • Allowed (you can define a system status transition)
    • Not allowed (you cannot define a system status transition. For example, you cannot define a system status transition for a business activity, say Display)
    • No influence (the system status for the business object remains the same on the completion of the business activity)

  • Set the system status for the business object to legally active or calculation relevant. You can select from the following values:
    • Set (the business object assumes the specified system status on the completion of the business activity)
    • Delete (the specified system status will be removed for the business object on the completion of the business activity)
    • No influence (the specified system status will remain the same on the completion of the business activity)

Example

To specify that on completion of a business activity, for example Release, the system status must be set to legally active and calculation relevant, you must set the following values in the IMG activity by choosing Define Business Activities -> System Status Transition:

  • System status: Legally active
  • Activity permissibility control: Allowed
  • Status transition control: Set

If you do not want the business activity Release to result in a system status transition to Legally active, set the following values:

  • System status: Legally active
  • Activity permissibility control: Allowed
  • Status transition control: Delete
