The application uses the message type to define the lowest error gravity that is allowed for this message.
Error gravity refers to the message type:
Blank means the message does not have to be issued.
I means the message must be at least an information message.
W means the message must be at least a warning message.
E means the message must be at least an error message.
The above sequence of message types is in order of increasing error gravity.
