Documentation
Definition
Part of the attribute type.
Use
This value has no control function; it is only for information.
You enter each bit of information, necessary to describe an attribute, as the component of an attribute type.
- The information, namely the data from the database that describes a concrete attribute (for example a material type), is used by the definition of an attribute as an attribute component. These components describe from which parts an attribute of the corresponding type is made up.
- So that an attribute (object data) can be identified in the source and target sytem, the attribute is normally cumulated from several components.
Dependencies
If you maintain individual attributes (for example material type), enter the following information:
- Enter the attribute type.
- Enter the attribute components relevant to the components attribute type.
The definition of which source system attribute replaces an attribute in the target system (for example document type) is performed in the step maintain mapping context -> maintain attribute mapping.
Example
The attribute of an object (for example the material type of a material master) is described in the target system (SAP System) by data from the database table MARA. This information is assigned in the following way:
- You maintain attribute type MB (Member), which identifies this object type.
In this example, the following components are entered for attribute type MB: - Object Name (Object name for the database table)
- Attribute Name (Field name for all fields in a database table)
- Then create the attribute R3-MTART for the material type and maintain the following data:
- Enter the attribute type MB (Member).
- Enter the following attribute components that are relevant to the components of attribute type Member:
MARA Object name for the database table
for the material master record
MTART Field name for the material type
from the table MARA
