Documentation
Definition
Key with which you can assign specific process categories to procurements and consumptions for single-level and multi-level material price determination .
- Process categories for procurement (process categories that begin with B) are activities that normally lead to a receipt, such as: Production, subcontracting, stock transfer, external procurement
- Process categories for consumption (process categories that begin with V) are activities that normally lead to a withdrawl, such as withdrawls for: Cost centers, assets, production orders, sales orders
Process categories are defined in the system. Activities that are not assigned to a process category for procurement will be assigned to process category B+. Activities that are not assigned to a process category for consumption will be assigned to process category V+.
Process categories B++ and V++ are masked.
Use
Process categories are used when collecting valuation-relevant transactions for material price determination in order to determine how these transactions affect the valuation price of the material.
The process category can be assigned in Customizing for the Actual Costing/Material Ledger component.
