Definition

This controls how costing with quantity structure searches for existing cost estimates when existing costing data are transferred to another cost estimate.

Use

In costing with quantity structure, the costs are usually calculated for a multilevel assembly structure. Cost estimates may already exist for some of the costing levels.

You can define single-plant and cross-plant strategies to control which cost estimate is transferred to the higher costing level.

• The single-plant strategy prevents the assemblies in the production structure from being recosted.
• With the cross-plant strategy, you control whether costing data for specially procured materials is to be transferred from the other plant.
