Definition
Depending on the secondary requirements indicator in the material master record, specifies whether existing costing data is transferred into a cost estimate.
Use
You set this indicator if existing costing data is to be transferred for materials controlled by collective requirements only. For materials controlled by individual requirements in such cases, a new cost estimate is created, even when one already exists for this material according to the plant-specific or cross-plant search strategy. This ensures that all the materials to be ordered or produced especially for the sales order are costed again. This is of particular use if, for example, your company's costs are strongly dependent on the lot size.
Do not set this indicator if existing costing data is also to be transferred for materials controlled by individual requirements. In such cases, the system searches for a cost estimate on the database in the sequence of the specified strategies.
Procedure
Examples
Dependencies
If the indicator is set, then there can be two cases:
- In the costing run, you carry out costing without first exploding the structure. A cost estimate can only be transferred if the secondary requirements indicator in the MRP view of the material master record of the material costed is set to 2 (only collective requirements).
- In costing with quantity structure, in sales order costing, and in the costing run after exploding the structure, you must make sure that
- the secondary requirements indicator in the BOM item has a higher priority than the setting in the material master record
- secondary requirements indicator 2 (only collective requirements) is passed on to all subordinate BOM components in the structure
The transfer control strategies should correspond with the costing lot size in the costing variant.
- If the costing lot size is to be passed on for individual requirements materials only, you should set the indicator Transfer only with collective requirements material.
- Do not define a transfer strategy if the costing lot size is always to be passed on.
