Definition

As a result of cross-system update logic, changes to orders made in the ERP system have a higher priority than parallel changes made in SAP APO. The cross-system update logic rejects order changes in SAP APO if a change was also made in the ERP system between the times when the order was changed and saved in SAP APO.

Use

If changes to the same order are saved at the same time in SAP APO and in the ERP system and transferred to the respective target system, ERP inbound recognizes that the changes from SAP APO refer to an older status than the data currently in the ERP system.

  • If you use cross-system update logic, the order changes from SAP APO are ignored in the ERP system. For this, you can choose from the following settings:
    • Use update logic, no automatic retransfer
    • The different change statuses are initially retained. You can use the CIF compare/reconcile function to analyze and rectify this inconsistency.
    • Use update logic, automatic retransfer
    • The current order status in the ERP system is completely retransferred to SAP APO. This means that the order in SAP is fully synchronized with the status in the ERP system.
  • If you do not use cross-system update logic, order changes from SAP APO to the ERP system are not ignored. In this case, choose 'Do not use cross-system update logic.'
