Definition

The cross-system update logic has the effect that order changes in the ERP system have a higher priority than parallel changes in SAP APO. Due to the cross-system update logic, order changes in SAP APO are rejected if a change is made to the order from the ERP system between the time when the order is changed and saved in SAP APO.

Use

If changes to the same order are saved at the same time in SAP APO and the ERP system and are transferred to the relevant target system, ERP inbound recognizes that the changes from SAP APO took place to an out-of-date situation in comparison with the ERP system.

  • If you use the cross-system update logic, the order changes from SAP APO are ignored in the ERP system. In this case, you can choose between the following settings:
    • Use update logic, no automatic retransfer
    • The different change situations in SAP APO and the ERP system remain for the time being. You can use the CIF comparison/reconciliation of transaction data to evaluate and rectify these inconsistencies in SAP APO.
    • Use update logic, automatic retransfer
    • The current status of the order in the ERP system is completely resent to SAP APO. In this way, the order in SAP APO is synchronized with the order in the ERP system.
  • If you do not use the cross-system update logic, the order changes from SAP APO are not ignored in the ERP system. In this case, choose the setting:
    • Do not use cross-system update logic
