Documentation
Definition
If you set this indicator, you include batches in your integration model. When the integration model is activated, the selected batches are transferred to the connected SCM system.
Use
If you want to work with batches in the connected SCM system, you must set the indicator.
For SAP APO, you must set the indicator for the following processes:
- Working with classified stocks
- Characteristics-dependent planning - CDP
- Characteristics-dependent ATP with batches
- Planning with shelf life
The prerequisite for this process is that batches are classified in SAP APO. The relevant batch master data must also be copied to the classification using the object characteristics.
By default, only the batch definition levels Material and Client are supported. The corresponding class type 023 in the ERP system is converted in the connected SCM system. The class in class type 400 is assigned to the material (product) and the class in the class type 230 is assigned to the batches (versions) in the connected SCM system.
Dependencies
To ensure that the batches retain the characteristic value assignments in the connected SCM system, the relevant classes and characteristics must be transferred. You can do this by including the classes and characteristic in the same integration model or transferring them beforehand in another integration model.
Transferring batches is only supported as of SAP APO 4.0 and SAP SCM Basis 5.1.
If you have already worked with the processes mentioned above in a lower SAP APO release, you must retransfer the classes from the ERP system by initial upload after completing the upgrade to SAP APO 4.0. You then have to transfer classified batches from the ERP system to SAP APO.
