The program separates acquisitions and retirements into different basic categories:

• Acquisitions

  1: New acquisition

  2: Subsequent acquisition

  3: Transfer from other city

  4: Other reasons

• Retirements

  1: Retirement

  2: Scrapping

  3: Transfer from other city

  4: Other reasons

If there are multiple postings for a fixed asset in the reporting period, the program determines the basic category as follows:

• Acquisitions are considered more important than retirements
• For acquisitions as a group and retirements as a group, the system considers the chronologically first posting.
