Definition
Controls that the costing version is used in the Material Requirements Planning with Preferred Production Version process.
Use
By selecting this checkbox, you allow the results of costing (Material Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure, Costing Run) to be saved in a separate database table at production version level.
Later in the process, you can select or lock one or more production versions from this data for the MRP planning run. To do so, use the Web Dynpro application Selection of Preferred Production Versions for Material Requirements Planning (CFB_WDA_PV_OVP).
Dependencies
If you have selected this checkbox, the system writes additional data to a database table during costing. You should therefore only select this checkbox if you want to use the Material Requirements Planning with Preferred Production Versions process with the respective costing version.
This might be the case if mixed costing was used so that all production versions of a product are taken into account in a cost estimate. Alternatively, you can manually carry out the cost estimate with quantity structure sequentially for each production version. However, mixed costing is mandatory if you use the costing run because you cannot manually specify a production version in that case.
You can also use the Material Requirements Planning with Preferred Production Versions process without carrying out costing for the production versions. In this case, do not select this checkbox.
Example
You want single-item planning to create planned orders for a production version of a material produced in-house. You decide which production version this should be based on costing results. You use mixed costing for all the relevant production versions.
The costing version used for which this checkbox is selected must be selectable in the costing variant used. This is the case if the same costing type and valuation variant are used in the costing variant and in the costing version.
When using mixed costing, all relevant production versions must also have been created as procurement alternatives for the material (Edit Procurement Alternatives). For the material and quantity structure type you must also create suitable, and in most cases identical, mixing ratios (Create/Change Mixing Ratios).
If you carry out costing for the affected material while using the above-mentioned costing variant and costing version (for example in Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure), the required additional data is written to the database table when you save. Afterwards, start the Web Dynpro application Selection of Preferred Production Versions for Material Requirements Planning (CFB_WDA_PV_OVP) to select the preferred production version for MRP from the costed production versions. In future planning runs, only planned orders with selected production versions are then created.
