Definition
Specifies which comparison value is used to determine the preferred and non-preferred production versions.
Use
You want to release the preferred production versions. To determine the preferred production versions, the system uses the value you have chosen as the comparison value for putting a material's production versions (within one plant) in a ranking list. The preferred production version is always the one with the lowest value as regards the entry selected here. If there are versions with the same value, the system sorts them according to the production version numbers.
In the standard system, the entry Total Value of Cost Estimate (WERT_GES_BUKRS) has been set. This means that the system considers the production version with the lowest calculated costs to be the preferred version. The prerequisite for this is that you have determined the value of the production versions in costing (transaction Create Material Cost Estimate with Quantity Structure (CK11N) or Edit Costing Run (CK40N)) so that this comparison makes sense from a business standpoint.
For the comparison value you can use the fields that contain the total value of the cost estimate (WERT_GES_BUKRS), the value of the controlling area (WERT_GES_KOKRS), or the customer's calculated value of a production version (CFB_CUST_WERT). Alternatively, you can configure any of the fields from an existing customer enhancement as the comparison value (INCLUDE CI_CFB_VERID_MRP).
Dependencies
With the Reference to Lot Size checkbox you can determine that the value stored in the Comparison Value for Determ. parameter does not reference the base unit of measure of the costed/valuated product, but rather the Lot Size for Product Costing (LOSGR). If you have selected the Reference to Lot Size checkbox, the total value from the costing result is always divided by the lot size first, thus providing a reference to the base unit of measure so that the ranking list can be determined. This can be useful if the production versions have been calculated with lot sizes.
If you have selected the Customer's Calculated Value of a Production Version entry (CFB_CUST_WERT) or a field from an existing customer enhancement of table INCLUDE CI_CFB_VERID_MRP, the system proceeds as follows: The system uses the value you have entered in the Lot Size for Customer-Specific Value column (CFB_CUST_LOSGR) as the lot size for the selected production versions, provided you have selected the Refer Value to Lot Size checkbox.
If the field value of a table entry is initial (for numeric fields zero, for alphanumeric fields " "), it cannot be used as a comparison value. If you have selected the Ignore Initial Values checkbox, the system ignores this initial value and puts it at the end of the ranking list.
