Definition

International Article Number for value transfer

Use

You can either enter the EAN code manually or scan it. The system decodes it and transfers each single value to the selected rows. The EAN code can contain the attribute of one or more application identifiers. Any of the various attributes can be encrypted.

The system always automatically selects the first entry in the component list. You have the following options when manually entering or scanning the EAN code:

  • You can enter the quantity to be posted for the selected row by scanning the EAN code of the respective application identifier and choosing Transfer. The system transfers the decoded values that are hidden in the application identifier to the appropriate column of the selected row.
  • You can select a different row by entering the material number or the EAN code from the material master record and choosing Transfer. The system then selects the appropriate row. You can then position your cursor on the EAN field again and scan another EAN code.
  • You can enter or scan a material (or the EAN code of a material) that is not yet in the component list and then choose Transfer. The system adds a new row containing this material to the component list. This enables you to supplement the list with an additional auxiliary material that is not in the recipe. You must have already created a material master record for the additional material before you can add it to the component list.
