Definition

Sequence according to which a revision level can be assigned for the selected object type (such as material) for a change with reference to a change number.

Dependencies

If you want to assign a revision level to a change with reference to a change number, the system determines the next revision level defined for the current object type (material or document).

• If external number assignment is defined, this value is a default value, which you can overwrite with any other value. You can define that the next revision level must always be higher in the control data in customizing for engineering change management.

If internal number assignment is defined, and all the revision levels in the sequence have already been assigned, you cannot assign a revision level to the next change until new revision levels have been defined in the sequence.
