Use
The technical release of all change packages is required if you want to release a superior leading change master record using the release key for the following:
- Global release
- Release for production
Procedure
Check whether the package should be released for this processing stage. Once you have released the package technically you can no longer undo this release.
If you want to technically release the change package, choose the following function: Edit -> Technical release.
The system automatically sets the Technical release indicator.

You can only edit the objects (for example, bill of material) with reference to a package that is technically not released.

The technical release of a leading change master record is required if you want to release the leading change master record using the release key for the following:
- Global release
- Release for production

- The leading change master should be released for this processing stage.
Once you have released it technically you can no longer undo this release.

In exceptional situations you can also release a leading change master record for production, in spite of not all allocated change packages being released technically.
This is possible if you set the Late package allowed indicator in the Set up control data step in Customizing.
