Definition

This indicator controls revision level assignment for both internal and external assignment. The next revision level assigned from the defined sequence of revision levels must be higher than the previous revision level assigned.

Use

If you set this indicator, the system sorts the revision levels in alphanumerical order, irrespective of the predefined revision level sequence.

Procedure

Examples

Defined sequence of revision levels for a material:

Seq.    Revision level

1    A

2    B

3    C

4    D

A material has revision level B assigned to it.

If you want to assign a new revision level, and this indicator:

• is set, you can assign either revision level C or D
• is not set, you can assign revision level A, C, or D

Dependencies

Do not set this indicator if you want to make extended sequence checks.
