Documentation
Definition
Identifies the change status of a material or document in addition to the change number.
Procedure
You can assign a revision level on a certain valid-from date when an object is changed with reference to a change number.
Proceed as follows:
- Changing a material
You can assign the revision level during processing in the material master record or in the header of the material BOM.
- Changing a document
You can control whether a revision level is assigned, depending on the document type. You define a document status, for which the release indicator is selected. When you process a document with this document type with reference to a change number and set this status for the first time, the system assigns the revision level automatically.
Dependencies
You have to define a revision level before you can assign it. To do this, in the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose Logistics -> Central Functions -> Engineering -> Engineering Change Management -> Revision Level -> Material Revision Level or Document Revision Level.
You specify how the revision level is assigned in the Set Control Data work step.
