Definition
Controls whether a change number is required for creating a variant BOM or alternative BOM if a change number is required for at least one further bill of material in the same BOM group.
Effect
If the 'Alternative with history requirement' indicator is set, it is necessary to create a change number for another alternative, as soon as at least one alternative in the group has been processed using a change number. The available history requirement of an available variant is inherited from the creation.
If the 'Alternative with history requirement' indicator is not set, a change number is not necessary when creating another BOM alternative. The history requirement during creation is independent of the variants that already exist with history requirement.
The indicator does not affect the history requirement when changing a variant. This is determined by the most restrictive alternative within the group. As long as there is at least one alternative in the BOM group with history requirement, you can only make changes with change number.
