How this value is interpreted depends on the parameter type. This can be one of the following:
- Single value
Value you enter is a single value
- Closed interval
Value you enter is an upper or lower limit
- Open interval
- Value you enter is a lower limit
In this case, you must also set the <parameter> indicator (for example, date indicator, serial number indicator).
- Serial number indicator
This indicator interprets a lower limit as a lower limit for an interval stretching upwards or forwards in time.
Note for entering a value
For data from an R/3 context, the system checks the appropriate data base table. For example, if you enter material M-1, the system checks the database table MARA (material master record) to see if the material master record M-1 exists.
