Definition

Use

Specifies the maximum number of hazard pictograms that can be output on the label stock. This value corresponds to the number of preprinted red diamonds for hazard pictograms that are on the label stock.

Use symbols are also regarded as hazard pictograms.

The following applies to the evaluation of the values specified for the minimum and maximum number:

  • Values for the minimum and maximum number are the same.

If the values are the same, the number of hazard pictograms defined in the specification must also match these values. Otherwise, the label is filtered. This means that the label or report generation variant is not taken into account during label determination.

  • Values for the minimum and maximum number are not the same.

If you do not specify a value for the maximum number or if this value is lower than the value for the minimum number, the number of hazard pictograms defined in the specification must match these values. Otherwise, the label is filtered. This means that the label or report generation variant is not taken into account during label determination.

  • If you do not specify a minimum and maximum value, the report generation variant rather than the label is filtered during label determination.
  • The value 0 is not evaluated (is evaluated as no entry).

Dependencies

If you specify a maximum number, you must also specify a minimum number.

The values specified are only evaluated for label categories for which the Use Symbols checkbox is selected in the Customizing activity Specify Label Categories.
