Definition
When setting up your budgeting procedures, you can define several budget types for your organization. The combination of budget type and budgeting process represents a customer-specific definition of budget values.
Procedure
For budgeting:
In Customizing, you can define budget types specific to the needs of your organization, by further subdividing the budgeting processes delivered by SAP.
For releasing budget:
When you are releasing portions of the budget, you must specify a unique budget type to be used for the individual release amount.
For statistical values:
If you need to store statistical budget data, you must specify a statistical budget type which will not be considered in budgeting or release checks.
Examples
You want to have additional funds available in the form of a "contingency budget", irrespective of the "operational budget". You therefore define a special budget type for this.
