Documentation
Definition
Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling.
Use
The fiscal year and the period for which an update of the accounts specified in the document or cost elements is made, are derived from the posting date.
When entering documents, the system checks whether the posting date entered is allowed by means of the posting period permitted.
Note
The posting date can differ from both the entry date (day of entry into the system) and the document date (day of creation of the original document).

Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 0003
Note
The system reads the control parameters for the given controlling area from the controlling area itself and from the fiscal year. Note that you do not need to redefine the control parameters every year; they are valid as of the given fiscal year for which the system creates the parameters.

Use
With this interval, you can limit the documents which are used for the extract chronologically. Only the documents which were posted in the specified posting period are taken into consideration.
Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 0009
Use
Posting date for interest posting. Without specification, the period upper limit is used.
Procedure

Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 0010
Use
By means of this parameter, the posting date of the interest postings can be determined. If no specification is made, the standard posting is by interest on arrears upper limit (for standard bank interest on arrears) or by interest on arrears lower limit of the next run. The interest on arrears upper limit cannot generally be used, since otherwise the interest postings would be treated as backdated value dates during the next run if the session was not immediately imported the day it was created.

Use
Here you specify the key date for which open documents are to be selected. Documents posted with a posting date that is after the specified key date are not selected.
Documents posted with a posting date that is before the specified key date and cleared after the specified key date are selected, because they had not yet been cleared on the specified key date.
Dependencies
Example
The following documents were posted:
Document number Document date Clearing date
1800000002 10.12.2000 31.12.2000
1800000003 31.12.2000 05.01.2001
1800000000 01.01.2001 05.01.2001
If you enter 31.12.2000 in the Open at key date field, the system selects as follows:
Document number Selected Reason
1800000002 no cleared on 31.12.2000
1800000003 yes already posted on 31.12.2000
but not yet cleared
1800000000 no not yet posted on 31.12.2000
Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 0012
Dependencies
You should only specify the posting date if it is not transferred from the external system.
Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 0014
Use
Fill out this field to create a tax balance sheet from the beginning of the fiscal year to this date. Otherwise, leave the field blank.
Dependencies
Example
Assume that you want to prepare a balance sheet for the fiscal year 2004 up to 30 November. Enter data as follows:
- Fiscal Year: 2004
- Posting Date: 30.11.04
Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 0020
Use
Required entry of the posting date period for input tax, output tax and EC output VAT, since the fiscal year is determined from the posting date when reading or updating table RVOR.
Additionally, the call is carried out on the date "0101" for the fiscal year start date. Otherwise, the system selects from table RVOR + 1 starting from the posting date.
If the posting date is not specified with "0101" at the beginning of the year, the corresponding error message is displayed.
The required entry of the posting date period for the EC input VAT is only necessary if you want to display EC input VAT.

Use
This entry determines the start of the analysis period.
When first calling up the transaction, the default value is determined from the current date and the length of an interval. The interval can be maintained using customizing.
Procedure
You can either use the default value or overwrite it. If you overwrite the default value, the entered value is retained when the transaction is called up again.
Examples
Today's date is March 31. If an interval of 30 days is specified, the default value will be calculated as March 1. If you change this date to March 15, this is the date that is proposed when you call up the transaction again.
Dependencies
- Select the Display order list transaction.
- Then switch on the master mode via 'Options'.
- You can then use the menu options 'Object--> Default values' to maintain the default values for the analysis period.
- Position your cursor and enter the following in the table of default values:
- Program: 'SAPMK21A'
- Transaction group: '1'
- Interval: Interval length in days
Note:
You can set the date via the SPA/GPA parameter 'KS7'.
Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 1022
Use
Using this entry, you determine the end of the period under consideration. The default value is determined from the current date.
Procedure
You can retain or overtype the default value.
If you overtype the default value, the entered value is retained for later call-ups of the transaction.
Examples
Current date is March 31. March 31 is then defaulted.
Dependencies
Note:
The date can be set via the SPA/GPA parameter 'KS8'.
Supplementary Documentation - BUDAT 1101
Use
Using this entry, you determine the beginning of the period under consideration.

Use
Transfer of totals records:
If you do not want to transfer all totals records of a reconciliation key, you can limit a partial amount by way of the company code or by way of the posting date.
In field Transfer To Posting Date you can specify the posting date up to which totals records should be transferred.
Totals records that are not transferred can be transferred at a later date. The system ensures that already transferred totals records are not transferred again.
Transfer of correction records:
Enter either the current date or no date at all. The posting date cannot be used as a selection criterion.
