Definition
A company department is an organizational unit equipped with its own own personnel and technical resources. This must be subordinate to its own internal management or generate its own activities, which could be created using independent sites and offered on the market.
The third position of the company department number in the SAP R/3 system decides whether reduced working hours is permissible for the company department:
- 0: Employees belong to a company department, but they do not work reduced working hours themselves. No lost hours may be calculated for this employee.
- 1: Lost hours may be calculated for these employees on the grounds of reduced working hours using a wage type.
