Definition

A logical action is a business-process independent definition of treatments of objects. Without being specific a process deals for example with creating, changing or displaying particular objects.

Use

In master data governance some processes use business activities with assigned change requests to trigger workflows for each change or creation of affected master data. These business activities are specific to their particular business process. The logical processes that are running on the corresponding objects are the same across all objects and business processes. Logical actions define atomic, yet global processes that are applied to any object, like CREATE, CHANGE or DISPLAY. To achieve a binding between this logical and technical aspect of a process and its business impact, business activities must be assigned to a logical action.
