Documentation
Definition
Descriptive framework that is used to categorize products of an application.
Use
Product categories are defined by the applications that are connected to total commitment. In Customizing, you can bundle them together with the product types originating from applications to form total commitment groupings.
You can use total commitment groupings to influence the positioning of contract information in the results list for total commitment. You can use this feature to display contracts/accounts of the same type but from various applications in one display block in the results list for total commitment.
Dependencies
SAP supplies product categories. You can specify them using the product types of the application that you can configure to meet your own requirements.
