Documentation
Definition
The location where inbound deliveries are considered to have physically arrived in the plant. The location can be either
- a physical location, such as a goods receipt office
- a logical group, which means a group of people who register and enter inbound deliveries and shipments
Use
You can predefine receiving points based on different combinations of plants and storage locations.
You use the receiving point to filter inbound deliveries for the multi-level goods receipt process: A delivery can be received at one receiving point only.
The system uses the receiving point to set the status In plant for inbound deliveries in the multi-level goods receipt process.
Example
Procedure
You can
- define a default receiving point
- change the receiving point manually when alternative input values are predefined in your system
