Definition
A software component is set of software objects that are delivered together. There are usually several releases of a software component with new functionality. You can import support packages separately for each software component.
Software objects are grouped together in packages and packages are assigned to the software components. The objects contained in a software component may change in upgrades due to changes in the assignment of objects to packages.
