Definition
This indicator defines whether the internal business volume that has occured within a set node (= area) is to be eliminated from total business when carrying out a rollup with hierarchical summarization.
Example
A typical example for this would be internal cost allocation between two cost centers that lie below a superior node cost center.
In this case, the node cost center would not display the costs resulting from this cost allocation.
The following diagram illustrates the above situation:
:RCNTR-------: Cost center
|OM-RCNTR1000| Summarization to 1000 (rep. value 1000)
:S-----------:
|
| :------------:
>---|OM-RCNTR1100| Summarization to 1100 (rep. value 1100)
| :S-----------:
| |
| | :------------:
| >---|OM-RCNTR1110| Summarization to 1110 (rep. value 1110)
| | :B-----------: 1111
| | 1112
| | 1113
| |
| | :------------:
| >---|OM-RCNTR1120| Cost center 1120 (rep. value 1120)
| | :B-----------: 1120
| |
| | :------------:
| >---|OM-RCNTR1130| Cost center 1130 (rep. value 1130)
| :B-----------: 1130
|
| :------------:
>---|OM-RCNTR1200| Summarization to 1200 (rep. value 1200)
| :B-----------: 1210
| 1220
|
| :------------:
>---|OM-RCNTR1300| Cost center 1300 (rep. value 1300)
:B-----------: 1300
Cost allocation:
- Cost center 1111 debits 1112 with 1000,- US$.
- Cost center 1111 debits 1120 with 2000,- US$.
- Cost center 1111 debits 1300 with 3000,- US$.
After the hierarchical summarization with elimination of the internal business volume from total business, the values for the node cost centers would be as follows:
- Node cost center 1110 would be credited with 5000,-
(internal business volume 1000,- eliminated between 1111 and 1112)
- Node cost center 1100 would be credited with 3000,-
(internal business volume 2000,- eliminated between 1111 and 1120)
- No values would be shown on node cost center 1000 since the total
internal business volume has been eliminated.
Note
To be able to eliminate the internal business volume from total business, you must enter a dimension as the hierarchy dimension (e.g. cost center), for which a corresponding rollup partner dimension (e.g. sender cost center) has been defined in the integrated master data.
